Charlie/Noah -|- Welcome Home

Charlie made it his business to know everything and anything that was happening in the city. At least when it came to the people he cared about. While he liked to pretend those things didn’t matter to him anymore his actions as of recently was showing that to be the farthest thing from the truth. Try as he may he couldn’t just let go of the past, of everything he’d once held so dear. For these reason Charlie found himself more obsessed with the lives of the ones he loved even while he continued to be an outsider looking in on their lives. It was why he was standing idly by while Belle prepared to marry that jackass Vince and why he wasn’t actively being a part of his niece’s life. They were things he regretted but it was simply how things had to be. If he stayed to close to their lives he would undoubtedly screw it up and hurt them further then he already had. Killing his own father had been the final straw for Charlie; he knew he would forever be screwing up the things that meant the most to him. That was why he gave himself a secret identity and made it his mission to protect Sara and Belle from the crazy missions they sent themselves into. He couldn’t live with himself if something ever happened to either one of them.

It was for these reasons that Charlie was more than aware of his best friend’s reappearance into New York City and into the lives of everyone Noah once knew. At this new found information Charlie found himself a mixture of emotions. The part of him, that part that still held on to the person that he once was in high school, the guy who was honest and true and just lived his life to have a good time. That part of him was beyond excited to see his friend’s reappearance back into his life, he was hopeful even that things might be able to go back to the way that they once were. The other part of him though, the part of Charlie that had changed, was not excited for this reunion. If anyone would see through Charlie and the life that he had created for himself it would be Noah and Charlie wasn’t ready to see yet another person he once loved disappointed with him and the person that he’d become. Charlie was still also a little bit jaded by his friend’s disappearance. His mind wandered to just how different things would have been had Noah stayed around. Charlie wondered if Noah would have been able to keep him check and keep his feet on the ground. How many things would have been different? Or would they have turned out exactly the same and Charlie would have had to watch his best friend turn to hating the person he was becoming.

Charlie knew that it was only a matter of time before Noah came to find him, only a matter of time before he got a firsthand look at what he had become. It was no surprise when the door man rang saying he had a visitor. From the outside it looked like Charlie had the perfect life. He had an over sized pent house in the financial district amongst the young and rich of New York City. His social life was the envy of the town and plastered all over page six on an almost daily basis. It was a life of riches and extravagant over spending, but it was truly an empty life. These thoughts plagued him as he stretch out across the expensive sheets of his bed. Gathering himself up, Charlie nudged the naked sleeping body of a woman beside him. “Time to go sweetheart.” Charlie said as he handed her her clothing and went to his closet to gather himself some clothes. Once he was changed into a pair of black sweats and simple gray t-shirt he reemerged to find the girl, whose name had escaped him, putting her shoes back on. “Alright, let’s go.  I’ll walk you out.” Charlie said coldly as grabbed his wallet and began to dig out some cash to send along with her. “Get yourself a cab sweetheart.” Charlie said as he handed her some cash as they reached the door just in time to hear someone at the door. Kissing the girl on the cheek as a part of his charade he prepared to usher her out.

Pulling open the door to the penthouse Charlie was met with the sight of his tall friend. It was nice to see that the picture of a moose like man he’d always remember was still very much what Noah was like. Charlie waved the random girl off watching her slip past Noah and towards the elevator. Waiting for her to disappear from sight as the elevator doors closed behind her before Charlie finally spoke to Noah. “I was wondering when I’d be seeing you.” Charlie said casually with a nod of the head as he stepped back away from the door and allowed the Noah into the apartment. At this point Charlie was torn between tackling the moose into a hug and keeping his cool like this new version of himself was much more accustom too. Leading Noah into the living room of his apartment, the fine modern furniture were cold and unwelcoming but the open glass of the windows that over looked the city gave a rather welcoming view of the city. Turning back towards Noah, Charlie looked him over nodding his head. “It’s good to see you man,” Charlie said taking a deep breath and he can’t help himself that piece of the guy he once was came out. Crossing the distance between them he hugged Noah, wrapping the taller man into a bear hug. “It’s really good to see you.” Charlie muttered into his friends shoulder. “I could just kill you for disappearing though.” He adds for good measure.

Right..

roxanne-pierce:

Its not that I care, its more along the lines of me being bored. I’ve already watched all my movies, I just want to go out, have a drink and see if I may have over looked any games on TV tonight.

So many playoff games tonight, I don’t know how you overlooked that one Rox. You’re always at the top of your game on that one. I could always try to entertain you, you know if you didn’t secretly despise my presence and all that.

New York, remember Vote Washington for president

cliff-washington:

The only reason people are voting for Beaumont is because of those ridiculous buttons. At least someone sees sense in this city.

I don’t get the button thing, THERE NOT EVEN GOOD BUTTONS. Probably time to step up your game Washington I don’t think I can stand to see that moron in office. If you’re in need of some financial backing I’d would mind backing a good cause.
